CDRom BBPBroiler Breeder Paradox

The apparent impossibility of reconciling production requirements (performance, health of the female breeder, growth performance of the offspring) without recourse to severe feed restriction.

Other paradoxes with broiler breeders are a low egg production but a hyperactive ovary; and the fact that the welfare of hens is affected by both ad libitum AND restricted feeding.

The research results you can consult on this CD (summary) are the joint efforts of five partners and concern : Chick quality - Genotypes of broiler breeders - Production of breeder hens - Behaviour of breeder hens - Systemic hormonal regulation - Local regulation of the ovary: IGFs, BMPs, Leptin, Insulin - Innovative genetics : differential display and QTL - Practical suggestions and reflection on the consumer's demand.
